In 1997, Dr Tay graduated from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of London that has a distinguished tradition dating back to 1123. He has been in the practice of ophthalmology since 1999 and received basic and advanced surgical training at the internationally renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London . He has worked at other London teaching hospitals such as the Western Eye Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital . He completed a Fellowship in Oculoplastics at Moorfields Eye Hospital in 2009 and an Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at the Gimbel Eye Centre in Canada in 2010.
